About this game
Advance Wars puts you in charge of a compact army on maps filled with cities, factories, mountains and chokepoints. Each turn is a choice between advancing, protecting a vulnerable unit and spending income on reinforcements. Capturing property strengthens your economy, while terrain changes how safely your troops can hold a position.
The campaign introduces these ideas gradually before combining them in more demanding missions. Different commanding officers bring their own strengths and special powers, giving familiar units a different role depending on who leads them.
